The Workshop
Whether you’re an Investor or Investment Manager, looking to achieve environmental & social benefits from your forest investments, or a Forest Business looking to integrate E&S objectives into your business model, getting your impact-integrated investment strategy design right is imperative.
I have seen several strategies fail because they lacked a comprehensive approach to design, and optimistically held the position that because forest investment is executed over a long-time horizon, ‘we can figure it out as we go’. This doesn’t work.
Not having a well articulated strategy can lead to significant time and resource wastage, poor performance, and an inability to divest assets in a way that optimizes returns.
This is where the Forest Impact Investment Strategy Workshop comes in…
A 2-hour online workshop where I’ll walk you through an interactive design of your own ESG and Impact integrated forest investment strategy – unique to your organization.
One of the key benefits of this workshop is access to The ForestLink’s forest investment strategy canvas. A comprehensive planning tool, designed to bring your team together, get organizational buy-in, create an action plan for moving forward – all in one tool!
You’ll work along with me in real time through every step of the strategy design, using the prompts in the canvas to spur your thinking around the right impact investment strategy for your organization.
There are only 10 spots available
The workshop is limited to 10 spots to ensure that every participant gets the most out of it – allow you time to ask questions and benefit from discussion with other participants.
The first three registrants will benefit from an early-bird price of 299 EUR, where the full price will be 499 EUR. Book now to reserve your place!

Frequently Asked Questions
I’m concerned about confidentiality – I don’t want to share the strategy that my organization is working on. Will I still benefit from participating?
This is completely understandable, and I anticipated this issue – so what we’ll do, is I will work through an example and the prompts in the canvas, while you work on your own strategy in silence. You can send me any questions you don’t want raised to the wider group after the workshop, and I’ll be happy to answer them.
I think my whole team could benefit from the workshop, can we share a registration?
Registrants to this particular workshop will benefit from a diversity of participants (protecting confidentiality of course), so ideally you send one person to participate, and you share your learnings after. However, nothing is stopping you from buying more than one spot (as long as they’re available). You will just not be able to share your registration link.
If you think your whole team might be interested, I also offer customized workshops for teams – either online or in person. These can be purchased after the workshop (and I’ll refund the cost of this digital workshop), or before the workshop – just email [email protected] and we’ll get it booked.
It would be good to get an extra set of eyes on my strategy to see if it makes sense and get some advice on revisions and what the next steps should be, can you provide feedback?
If you’d like feedback on your strategy, I’m offering a one-on-one session after the workshop. In this session, you will send me the draft canvas you’ve completed in the workshop, I’ll review it, and in a phone call we will discuss my feedback. You can book it here now, or after the workshop.
Our strategy is not exclusively on forestry, is this workshop still relevant for us?
This workshop will apply to any forest and land-use impact investment strategy. So characteristics such as traditional timberland, improved forest management, forest restoration, forest conservation, agroforestry, agriculture, regenerative agriculture, wetland restoration/conservation, mangrove restoration, fruit/nut/seed orchards, non-timber plantation strategies (such as bioenergy, bamboo and rubber), etc. But if you’re not sure – just email [email protected] and we can chat about if it’s right for you.
Forestry is new to us, do I need to have a solid understanding of the asset class to benefit from this workshop?
This is even more a reason to join! Though experienced forest investors will benefit from the streamlined and comprehensive approach to an ESG and impact integrated forest investment strategy that I teach, investors or investment managers that are new to the asset class will also gain a good understanding of the asset class, and how to build your priorities into a strategy that makes sense.
It’s not clear to me if this is for capital providers or asset managers? How do I know if it’s relevant for me?
It’s for both! Both will be looking to allocate capital. Yes, its true – that a capital provider might not be interested in the fundraising component of the strategy design, but you may be looking for co-investors, and will need to consider how to find the right fit. And if not – instead think of who your other key stakeholders will be in this segment of the strategy design. In any case, both will need to consider objectives, risks, characteristics, and the investment framework to move you through the investment process to exit.
